Drive Train:
The vehicle is primarily designed to be an EV where the GLA 250+ electric produces 268 horsepower, while the GLA 350 4Matic Electric produces 349 hp.
There will also be a hybrid version available where the new GLA introduces an electrified 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The powertrain will be available with either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
The hybrid system uses a 48-volt lithium-ion battery with an energy capacity of up to 1.3 kWh, which supplies an electric motor integrated into the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission (8F-eDCT). The transmission uses two drive clutches and a disconnect clutch to manage power delivery between the combustion engine and electric motor.
The new 1.5-litre petrol engine, known internally as the M 252, is part of Mercedes-Benz's Modular Engine Family (FAME). It uses a Miller-cycle combustion process with a 12:1 compression ratio, which is designed to improve efficiency under partial-load conditions.
Interior:
Regarding with the interior, similar to the recent Sensual Purity design era, the stand out features are the optional Superscreen spanning three displays, a Burmester 3D surround system with 16 speakers and Dolby Atmos, and a standard panoramic roof, with a segment-dimmable SKY CONTROL roof listed as a future option.
i also features the MBUX Virtual Assistant, which uses generative AI to handle more complex voice interactions. The system can process multi-step requests, remember details within a conversation, and provide responses using natural language.
The MBUX Virtual Assistant can also provide information related to navigation and points of interest by accessing data sources for locations, charging stations, parking availability, and other travel-related information.
AMG Line:
The vehicle is available with AMG Line and AMG Line Plus styling packages, which add sportier exterior and interior design elements.
The AMG Line exterior includes an illuminated grille surround with a dark shadow chrome finish, a front apron with larger air intakes, and a body-coloured rear apron. The wheel arch claddings are available in body colour or optional high-gloss black, and the package includes 19- or 20-inch AMG Line alloy wheels. The exterior lighting package also adds an animated star-pattern light projection when the doors are opened.
Inside, the AMG Line adds a sports steering wheel with shift paddles, a flattened rim, Nappa leather trim, light carbon-look aluminium interior trim, and AMG stainless steel sports pedals with rubber inserts.
The AMG Line Plus package is available for the GLA for the first time and adds further exterior details, including a high-gloss black spoiler lip, black door sill trim, exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels, and a matching high-gloss black key. The interior includes sports seats with adjustable headrests, ARTICO synthetic leather and MICROCUT microfiber upholstery options, contrast stitching, red seat belts, illuminated door sills, and additional upholstery choices including black/power red, black leather, black/energy green, and beech brown.
